ESF Business & Education Project
We recently had the opportunity to take part in the LEAF Careers Fair which took place at the Magna Centre in Rotherham.
By taking part in a 'Dragon's Den' business panel our MD Dean Pattison had the opportunity to share his experiences leading to the creation and development of Utility Source.
The event which was well attended by students from around the Rotherham borough, all developing themselves further prior to taking the leap into further education, apprenticeships or the working environment.
Dean explained 'I have worked with young people for many years whether it be through sports or education. I find students of this age intriguing. When I left school I really didn't have a clue what I wanted to do or who I wanted to be and I am often blown away at the focus which some of these students have to achieve their goals. That said, there are also many young people who are in a similar situation that I found myself in. To share my journey which started as a temporary member of staff, moving through a management structure then onto becoming a business owner will hopefully inspire one of them to believe that anything is possible with hard work'. 'In addition, the business leaders on the panel were driven and diverse and I enjoyed listening to how they had made their way to their success'.
A worthwhile and effective event delivered by ESF Business and Education.
