The Bowling Green Inn, a historic pub dating back to 1784, had fallen into disrepair and closed its doors in 2021. A franchisee of KFC and Starbucks recognised the potential of this prime location and acquired the property with plans to transform it into a modern food and beverage hub.

Challenge

The site required a complete overhaul of its utility infrastructure to accommodate the new food outlets. Our role was to assess the site’s existing utilities, coordinate the disconnection of obsolete services, and arrange for the installation of new supplies that would meet the significant demands of the proposed food and drink outlets.

Our Solution

Utility Assessment: We conducted a thorough evaluation of the Bowling Green Inn’s existing utility infrastructure. Our assessment revealed that the electric and gas services were outdated and unsuitable for the proposed development.

Disconnection: We coordinated the safe and efficient disconnection of the existing electric and gas services, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

New Utility Connections: We worked closely with the project team to identify the specific utility requirements for the new development. This involved arranging for the installation of two new electric services, two new water services, and ensuring adequate telecommunications connectivity.

BT Openreach Registration: To provide reliable broadband connectivity, we coordinated the registration of the site with BT Openreach, ensuring that the new development would have access to high-speed internet services.
