This project involves the installation of gas, electricity, and water to a newly built bungalow situated on land that was previously used for garages. The customer had agreed to purchase the title for the land from the current owner, but legal transfer of ownership was still pending due to the sale of her existing property.

Challenges:
• The land title had not yet been transferred into the customer’s name at the time of planning and installation.
• The planned location for the electricity joint bay was in a public footpath directly in front of a neighbouring property’s driveway, presenting access and permission issues.
Our Solution:
• With the customer’s help, we obtained contact details for the current landowner and worked collaboratively with Northern Powergrid to secure a third-party wayleave agreement, allowing works to proceed lawfully on the land.
• Our site coordinator took a proactive and personal approach by visiting the neighbouring homeowner to explain the works, the expected duration, and the potential disruption.
• The neighbour agreed to relocate their vehicle to on-street parking for 4 days to facilitate the work.
Results:
• Electric and gas supplies were successfully installed with minimal disruption.
• The water connection is scheduled for early July and is expected to proceed smoothly, completing the full utility installation for the new build.
